Position Overview: We are seeking a Quality Manager who will be responsible for overseeing the development and execution of quality policies that align with customer specifications, industry codes, and standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement quality assurance policies in accordance with regulatory requirements.
- Coordinate with various departments to establish efficient work schedules and methodologies.
- Conduct audits to identify, investigate, and rectify potential quality and safety issues.
- Maintain alignment of the Canadian quality management system with global standards.
- Ensure procurement of materials meets high nuclear safety standards.
- Communicate and implement changes to quality programs across the organization.
- Provide training to staff on quality procedures and company policies.
- Engage with industry organizations to influence quality standards.
- Resolve operational challenges and recommend improvements for productivity and quality.
- Lead the corrective action initiatives for the Canadian operations.
- Prepare and present quality performance reports for management review.
- Oversee the use of experience data programs to enhance quality assurance practices.
- Manage departmental budgets and control expenditures effectively.
- Ensure staff training and performance management align with departmental objectives.
- Conduct internal and external audits, and act as an approver for material purchases.
Qualifications:
- Post-secondary education in a relevant field with a minimum of three years in a nuclear or technical environment.
- At least five years of experience in the nuclear industry.
- Certification as an Authorized Nuclear Inspector or equivalent.
- Preferred qualifications include Lean and Six Sigma certifications.
- Proficiency in database management and Excel.
- Familiarity with industry codes and standards such as ASME, CSA, and ISO 9001.
