About the Role

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented individual to join our team as a Banquet Manager at GWALIA CATERING AND BANQUETS - CALGARY. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for planning and executing daily events, ensuring seamless execution and exceptional customer service.

Key Responsibilities
  • Event Planning and Execution
    • Develop and implement event plans, including menu selection, decor, and logistics
    • Coordinate with clients to understand their needs and preferences
    • Manage event timelines, budgets, and resources
  • Operations Management
    • Oversee daily operations, including inventory management, staff supervision, and quality control
    • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and company policies
  • Customer Service
    • Provide exceptional customer service to clients and their guests
    • Address customer complaints and concerns in a professional and timely manner
  • Team Collaboration
    • Work closely with the sales, marketing, and culinary teams to ensure seamless event execution
    • Collaborate with other departments to resolve issues and improve processes
Requirements
  • Education
    • College, CEGEP, or other non-university certificate or diploma from a program of 3 months to less than 1 year
  • Experience
    • 2 years to less than 3 years of experience in event planning, operations management, or a related field
  • Skills
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
    • Strong organizational and time management skills
    • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
    • Attention to detail and ability to multitask
