About the Role

Technical Specialist Position at ALS

ALS is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Technical Specialist to join our team in the LC-MS department. As a Technical Specialist, you will be responsible for method development of extraction and instrumental methods, instrument maintenance and troubleshooting, and supporting routine testing in the LC-MS department.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Method development of extraction and instrumental methods
  • Instrument maintenance and troubleshooting
  • Supporting routine testing in the LC-MS department
  • Providing competent training to other analysts
  • Assisting in the creation and archiving of initial method validation files
  • Carrying out all required record-keeping, documentation, quality control procedures as SOP and/or Policies state

Requirements:

  • Completion of MSc degree in chemistry or related field
  • Extensive experience in SPE, HPLC, LC-MS, LC-MS/MS method development and validation
  • Experience with PFAS analysis in environmental samples preferred
  • Strong computer skills
  • Strong understanding of organic chemistry and related parameters

Physical Demands:

  • Manual dexterity to perform intricate and/or repetitive tasks
  • Wear issued personal protective equipment (PPE) such as dust masks, gloves etc., when required
  • Ability to stand for a full shift
  • You may be exposed to unpleasant odours
  • Lift up to 30lbs and carry for short distances
