Booking Clerk/Secretary

Vancouver Coastal Health is seeking a skilled Booking Clerk/Secretary to join the Physiotherapy team at Sechelt Hospital. As a key member of our team, you will provide scheduling and reception functions, supporting our healthcare professionals in delivering exceptional patient care.
Key Responsibilities- Provide scheduling and booking services for clients and patients, ensuring seamless coordination of appointments and follow-up visits.
- Support the team by maintaining appointment calendars, printing daily schedules, and rearranging schedules as needed.
- Manage client/patient charts, entering data into our computerized system and updating statistics on attendance.
- Arrange patient transportation and provide reception services, greeting clients and directing them to appropriate areas.
- Answer phone calls, respond to inquiries, and forward messages to healthcare professionals or other personnel as needed.
- Maintain departmental equipment, supplies, and filing systems, ensuring a smooth and efficient work environment.
- Perform timekeeping functions for designated staff, ensuring accurate and timely records.
Sechelt Hospital is an acute care facility serving over 30,000 residents of the Lower Sunshine Coast. Our hospital provides a range of services, including emergency care, renal programs, mental health and substance use services, surgical services, and imaging services.
Qualifications- Grade 12, two years of recent related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing.
- Knowledge of medical terminology and ability to operate related equipment.
- Physical ability to carry out the duties of the position.
