About the Role

Vancouver Coastal Health is seeking a skilled Booking Clerk to join the Medical Imaging Team at Sechelt Hospital in Sechelt, BC. As a key member of the team, you will be responsible for scheduling and booking patient appointments for designated areas within Radiology.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform scheduling and booking functions for patient appointments, ensuring accurate and timely processing of requests.
  • Coordinate with patients, doctors' offices, nursing units, physicians, technical staff, and surgical/medical daycare to arrange appointments and make follow-up bookings.
  • Enter booking, patient, and image/film information into radiology and hospital computerized and/or manual booking and patient information systems.
  • Prepare and confirm patient information, and file requisitions for all bookings.
  • Act as a receptionist to support the delivery of patient care and ensure client/family needs are met.

Sechelt Hospital is an acute care facility located in Sechelt, BC, serving over 30,000 residents of the Lower Sunshine Coast. The hospital provides a range of services, including Emergency care, Renal program-community dialysis units, Mental Health and Substance Use Services, surgical services, and imaging services.

Qualifications

  • Grade 12, two (2) years' recent related experience or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
  • Ability to keyboard at 40 wpm.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology.
  • Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
  • Ability to deal with others effectively.
  • Physical ability to carry out the duties of the position.
  • Ability to organize work.
  • Ability to operate related equipment.
