Position Overview

We are seeking a Booking Clerk for the Diagnostic Imaging department.

Vancouver Coastal Health is in search of a dedicated Booking Clerk to become part of the Radiology-Ultrasound Team. This position plays a crucial role in ensuring efficient scheduling and client care.

Responsibilities of the Booking Clerk in the Radiology-Ultrasound department include:

Facilitating client care and addressing the needs of clients and their families. Employing computerized systems along with a high degree of professionalism to schedule and manage appointments for various diagnostic imaging services. Executing tasks such as: receiving requests for examinations, coordinating appointment times with clients, medical offices, nursing teams, and technical staff, adjusting schedules to accommodate changing needs, preparing and verifying client details, entering booking and client data into relevant computerized and/or manual systems, scheduling follow-up appointments, maintaining records for all bookings, and tracking appointment and waitlist statistics. Additionally, providing clerical support including reception duties, responding to inquiries, managing report release requests, filing, and photocopying/faxing.

Qualifications

Education & Experience

Completion of Grade 12, with a minimum of two (2) years of relevant experience or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.

Skills & Competencies

Proficient typing skills at a minimum of 45 wpm. Familiarity with medical terminology. Strong verbal and written communication abilities. Effective interpersonal skills. Physical capability to perform the responsibilities of the role. Strong organizational skills. Proficient in operating related equipment.

Additional Information

Work hours, including days off and work area, may be subject to change based on operational needs. Successful candidates may be required to undergo a Criminal Records Review Check.
