About the Role

Vancouver Coastal Health is seeking a skilled Booking Clerk to join the Medical Imaging Team at Sechelt Hospital in Sechelt, BC.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform scheduling and booking functions for patient appointments in designated areas within Radiology.
  • Arrange times with patients, doctor's offices, nursing units, physicians, technical staff, and surgical/medical daycare.
  • Make follow-up appointments, locate applicable images/films prior to appointments, and rearrange schedules to meet changing demands/requests.
  • Prepare and confirm patient information, enter booking, patient, and image/film information into radiology and hospital computerized and/or manual booking and patient information systems.
  • Filing requisitions for all bookings and acting as receptionist to support the delivery of patient care and ensure client/family needs are met.

Sechelt Hospital is an acute care, 46-bed facility located in Sechelt, British Columbia, serving over 30,000+ residents of the Lower Sunshine Coast.

Qualifications
  • Grade 12, two (2) years' recent related experience or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
  • Ability to keyboard at 40 wpm, knowledge of medical terminology, and ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
  • Ability to deal with others effectively, physical ability to carry out the duties of the position, and ability to organize work.
