About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented People and Culture Assistant to join our team at Compassion Canada. As a key member of our People and Culture Resources department, you will play a vital role in ensuring the effective and efficient operation of our human resources functions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Administrative Support: Provide administrative and clerical support to the People and Culture Team and Chief People Officer, including scheduling meetings, updating internal databases, organizing Human Resources information, and maintaining pristine records and systems.
  • Employee Data Management: Manage electronic files, ensure up-to-date databases and record keeping, and create personnel files and profiles in Dayforce, Compassion's Human Resources Information System (HRIS).
  • Communication and Support: Monitor People and Culture inboxes, respond to employee queries, triage and escalate as necessary, and provide payroll support ensuring prompt update of employee status changes and workflow management in Dayforce.
  • Project Management: Track completion of projects and compliance tasks and other initiatives as required, and facilitate processing of reimbursements for professional development and fitness benefits.
  • Talent Acquisition: Support talent acquisition including job posting, interview scheduling, reference checks, and candidate support.
Requirements
  • Education and Experience: Post-secondary education in human resources, business administration, or other related field, or minimum of two (2) years' experience in mid-level administrative experience with an emphasis in Human Resources.
  • Skills and Abilities: Highly proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, Project Management tools, and HRIS software or databases; experience in Dayforce, Asana, or payroll software considered strong assets; exceptional time management skills, attention to detail, and ability to work with confidential and sensitive data.
