Mental Health Department Clerk


Our team is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Clerk to join our Child and Adolescent Mental Health department at BC Children\'s Hospital. As a key member of our team, you will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of our mental health services.



Key Responsibilities:

  • Schedule patient appointments and book follow-up appointments, ensuring accurate dates, times, and locations.
  • Screen referrals received in the department and gather necessary information to ensure compliance with departmental requirements.
  • Process patient registrations by collecting and documenting patient information, and maintain accurate records in our departmental database.
  • Retrieve and return patient charts as required.


Requirements:

  • Grade 12 and two years of recent related experience or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
  • Ability to keyboard at 45 wpm and possess knowledge of medical terminology.
  • Effective communication skills and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to organize work and maintain accurate records.
  • Commitment to developing knowledge and understanding of legislative obligations and provincial commitments.
