About the Role:


We are seeking a highly skilled Child and Youth Mental Health Specialist to join our team at BC Children's Hospital.


Job Summary:


The successful candidate will work as part of a multidisciplinary care team to provide specialized mental health services to children and youth presenting with complex mental health needs.


Key Responsibilities:



  • Conduct comprehensive assessments and develop individualized treatment plans in collaboration with the emergency team, physicians, and consultants.
  • Provide direct care to patients, including administration of prescribed treatments and medications according to policy.
  • Develop and implement education resources for patients and families on mental health topics.

Requirements:



  • Degree in Nursing or related field and current practicing registration as a Registered Nurse or Registered Psychiatric Nurse with the British Columbia College of Nurses & Midwives (BCCNM).
  • Three years' recent related experience working with children, adolescents, and families on an inpatient child/adolescent mental health unit, including one year's recent related experience in a crisis or emergency psychiatry setting.
  • Certification in CPR and CPI training.
