Overview

Job Summary

This is a challenging and rewarding opportunity for a Registered Nurse or Registered Psychiatric Nurse with experience working in child and youth mental health to join our team at BC Children's Hospital. As a member of our multidisciplinary team, you will provide nursing care to children and adolescents with complex mental health needs, working collaboratively with other healthcare professionals to develop and implement individualized care plans.

About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and compassionate RN or RPN with recent experience working in a child and adolescent mental health setting. The ideal candidate will have excellent assessment and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with children, adolescents, families, and healthcare teams.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide high-quality, patient-centered nursing care to children and adolescents with complex mental health needs
  • Conduct comprehensive assessments and develop individualized care plans in collaboration with other healthcare professionals
  • Work collaboratively with families and caregivers to support their involvement in the child's care
  • Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings to coordinate care and share knowledge and expertise
  • Stay up-to-date with best practices and research in child and adolescent mental health

Requirements

  • Degree in Nursing from an approved School of Nursing with current practicing registration as an RN or RPN with the British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives (BCCNM)
  • Recent experience working in a child and adolescent mental health setting
  • Excellent assessment and communication skills
  • Able to work effectively with children, adolescents, families, and healthcare teams
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
