Job Summary

Under the general supervision of the Manager, the Respiratory Therapist provides therapeutic, diagnostic, technical, and teaching respiratory therapy services consistent with discipline and professional standards while adhering to the employer's mission, values, and management philosophy.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provides respiratory therapy services to patients with respiratory disorders.
  • Conducts diagnostic tests and procedures to assess respiratory function.
  • Develops and implements individualized respiratory care plans.
  • Collaborates with other healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive patient care.
  • Provides education and training to patients, families, and healthcare staff.
Requirements
  • Current registration with the MARRT is required.
  • Recent and related clinical experience is preferred.
  • Entry-to-practice academic credential in Respiratory Therapy from an accredited Canadian program or a MARRT-approved equivalent is required.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Ability to establish and maintain good interpersonal relationships.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work cooperatively with other disciplines and demonstrate professional judgment and initiative.
Work Environment

The Respiratory Therapist will work in a fast-paced clinical environment, providing respiratory therapy services to patients with respiratory disorders.

The successful candidate will be required to work a variety of shifts, including weekends and extended hours.

May be exposed to infectious diseases, blood and body fluids, radiation, toxic materials, noise, allergens, physical and emotional stress, etc.

May encounter aggressive and/or agitated clients/staff/visitors.
