Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Facilities Assessment Director to lead our facility assessment consulting practice. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for managing resource planning and recruitment, project management processes, and providing technical subject matter expertise to clients.

Main Responsibilities

  • Maintain effective relationships with clients and account leads, ensuring client satisfaction and expectations are met.
  • Lead day-to-day communication with clients, including regular status updates and reporting.
  • Manage project intake, identify project risks, and develop mitigation plans.
  • Support scheduling and logistics as required.
  • Report on project progress and provide feedback to stakeholders.

People Leadership

You will demonstrate strong leadership skills, guiding team members to reach their full potential and meet their objectives. Specifically, you will:

  • Recruit talent and mentor team members.
  • Provide coaching and guidance to team members.
  • Recommend compensation adjustments based on performance.
  • Perform performance management and oversee a team of condition assessors.
  • Ensure H&S protocols are documented and adhered to by all team members.

Facility Assessment

You will lead a team of assessors in executing facility assessments, refine assessment scope as required, and provide technical expertise on assessment standards and guidelines. You will also stay current on facility assets, new technologies, and emerging risks, and share best practices across the Professional Services Team.

Financial Management

  • Monitor and meet financial targets, collaborating with finance teams to optimize program efficiencies.
  • Manage team utilization targets and collaborate with other business service lines to increase revenue.

General Management

  • Prepare and ensure professional deliverables suitable for client submissions.
  • Conduct research on leading asset inspection and assessment practices.
  • Develop and maintain subconsultant relationships as required.
  • Complete lessons learned reviews and identify opportunities for improvement.

Requirements

  • University degree in a relevant field such as engineering, architecture, or building science.
  • 4 years of experience in condition assessment work or related engineering experience.
  • Fundamental knowledge of national and provincial building codes and regulatory requirements.
  • Familiarity with ASTM Practice E2018-01 and CSA ASC B651-23.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, along with presentation abilities.

Estimated Salary: $120,000 - $150,000 per annum
