We offer a competitive salary for this position, ranging from $37.39 to $62.74 per hour, depending on qualifications and experience. This rate includes masters degree or PhD holders separately.
Job DescriptionThis role involves providing psychological assessment, diagnosis, and treatment intervention to individuals, families, and groups. You will work collaboratively in an inter-professional team setting, engaging in research and program evaluation, and developing new assessment and treatment programs.
As a psychologist, you will provide consultations to hospital staff and engage in teaching and supervision of psychology trainees and other health profession learners. You will utilize discipline-specific skills, knowledge, and related clinical experiences to provide psychological assessments, care planning, direct clinical interventions, and consultation to staff on complex cases and psychological issues.
Required Skills and Qualifications- Masters or Doctoral Degree in Psychology – Registered Psychologist or Candidates Register with Nova Scotia Board of Examiners in Psychology
- Ability to work collaboratively in an inter-professional team setting
- Evidence of skills and interests in the field of addiction (an asset)
- Experience in both inpatient and community-based settings, including in community settings other than clinics
- Problem-solving skills and tolerance for the challenges inherent in working with clients who have a complex and chronic clinical presentation
- Ability to manage crisis situations in a confident, proactive, level-headed, and collaborative manner
- Leadership style that can confidently and diplomatically inspire the confidence and support of colleagues
- Competencies in other languages (an asset), French preferred
