About the Opportunity

The Nova Scotia Health Authority is seeking a qualified Mental Health Clinical Social Worker to join our Child and Adolescent Services team. As a key member of our multi-discipline service, you will work with children and adolescents up to 19 years old, providing assessment and treatment for mental health or concurrent disorders.

Responsibilities:
  • Conduct individual, family-based, or group therapy sessions
  • Develop and implement treatment plans tailored to each client's needs
  • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive care
  • Supervise case managers and behavioral interventionists
About You

We are looking for a highly skilled and experienced social worker who possesses a Master's degree in Social Work with a specialization in clinical or mental health stream. A minimum of two years' experience in an inpatient/outpatient mental health setting is required, with expertise in assessment, intervention, and research. The ideal candidate will also have knowledge of acute and persistent mental illness, concurrent disorders, and evidence-based interventions like CBT and risk assessment.

Qualifications:
  • Masters of Social Work with a specialization in a clinical or mental health stream
  • Registered with the Nova Scotia College of Social Workers
  • Two years' experience in an inpatient/outpatient mental health setting
  • Knowledge of standards that guide the profession
  • Ability to link to community resources
  • Strong client focus and ability to build solid client/practitioner relationships
What We Offer

This is a permanent full-time position, with a salary range of $73,685 - $95,905 per year (based on a 75-hour biweekly schedule).
