About the Role

We are seeking a Child Mental Health Specialist to join our multidisciplinary team, providing mental health services directly in school settings. The successful candidate will be responsible for early identification and intervention of mental health disorders for children and adolescents.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assess and conceptualize common childhood mental health disorders (ADHD, anxiety, depression, behavior disorders)
  • Develop and implement evidence-based treatment plans for children and adolescents
  • Collaborate with teachers, parents, and other healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive support
  • Liaise between clients, schools, and mental health services to ensure seamless care coordination
Requirements:
  • Masters degree in Social Work
  • Current registration with Nova Scotia College of Social Workers (NSCSW) or eligibility to register
  • Minimum two years' experience providing mental health services to preschoolers, children, and adolescents
Compensation:

$37.31 - $49.04 per hour, plus benefits package including health, dental, travel, long-term disability, and life insurance coverage as well as a defined benefit pension plan.
