Overview

The Business Development Representative is a critical role at UniFirst Corporation, responsible for enhancing company value by retaining and growing key accounts. This position requires developing and maintaining relationships with key personnel and decision makers to maintain a customer base of 94% to 100%.

Salary and Benefits

This role offers an annual salary of $65,000 - $75,000 plus commission, as well as a comprehensive benefits package that includes employee referral programs, supplemental health insurance, life insurance, long-term disability, vacation time, sick leave, paid holidays, and 30% employee discounts on UniFirst products and services.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with key customers through proactive outreach and regular visits.
  • Conduct biannual account reviews using tools like report cards to quantify service performance and identify areas for improvement.
  • Use internal and external resources to retain customers, increase rental revenue, and develop new business opportunities.
  • Maintain accurate records of customer interactions and update contract/PO status.
  • Work closely with UniFirst departments to ensure customer satisfaction exceeds expectations.
  • Generate leads for the Service and Sales teams when necessary.

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • High school diploma required; Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • 3-5+ years of successful sales and/or service experience.
  • Ability to travel approximately 70-80% for customer interfacing.
  • Excellent people, communication, and interpersonal skills for relationship building.
  • Strong contract and negotiation skills.
  • Good judgment/decision making.
  • Problem-solving skills, including solutions and execution.
  • Order writing, proposal development, and pricing expertise.
