About the Opportunity

Nova Scotia Health Authority is seeking a highly skilled and dedicated pathologist to join our team. This full-time position will provide an opportunity to work in a dynamic environment with a diverse range of cases, including surgical pathology, autopsy, and cytopathology specimens.

Responsibilities
  • Conduct autopsies and biopsies
  • Assess pathology specimens and cytopathology specimens
Work Environment

The successful candidate will be based at Cape Breton Regional Hospital, which serves over 100,000 patients per year and has a four-hospital complex that includes Glace Bay, New Waterford Consolidated, and Northside General Hospitals.

Expected Hours

This is a full-time position.

Compensation Package

We offer a competitive salary of $250,000-$300,000 per annum, depending on experience. In addition to your base salary, you can also expect additional benefits such as medical coverage, pension plan, and opportunities for professional development.

Qualifications
  • Eligibility for licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Nova Scotia (CPSNS)
  • Eligibility for certification with the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada (RCPSC)
  • Membership with the Canadian Medical Protective Association (CMPA)
  • Canadian certification in either anatomical or general pathology is considered an asset
