Our partnership with Dalhousie University aims to establish the Cape Breton Medical Campus, enhancing healthcare services and education in rural Nova Scotia. We invite applications for a Director of Faculty Development position, which will support academic growth and professional development for faculty members across various sites.
Job Description:
- Lead the development and delivery of tailored learning activities to meet the diverse needs of faculty at the Cape Breton Medical Campus.
- Monitor program effectiveness and ensure compliance with accreditation standards through ongoing quality improvement initiatives.
- Establish effective communication channels with faculty leadership, site directors, and teaching faculty to identify and address training needs.
- Design a sustainable curriculum that caters to all faculty at the Cape Breton Medical Campus, promoting interprofessional and interinstitutional collaboration.
- Foster alignment across the continuum of medical education through collaboration with relevant educational bodies.
- Collaborate with Nova Scotia Health and clinical departments to integrate faculty development programming into departmental activities.
- Nurture a working relationship with Doctors Nova Scotia and its continuing professional development programming.
- Pursue research and scholarship in Continuing Professional Development (CPD).
- Represent the Cape Breton Medical Campus on faculty development and CPD initiatives with external organizations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide quarterly written reports to the Senior Associate Dean, CBMC and Associate Dean CPDME, Faculty of Medicine, Dalhousie University.
- Comply with standards as determined by the Senior Associate Dean CBMC and CPDME and associated committees.
Requirements:
- Master's degree in Education or Medical Education is considered an asset.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule.
- Ability to navigate and work with confidential settings with sensitive data.
- Knowledge of medical education programs and/or academic healthcare environment would be beneficial.
Salary and Benefits:
We offer a competitive salary range of $80,000 - $120,000 per annum, commensurate with experience. The successful candidate will also have access to comprehensive benefits, including health insurance, retirement savings plan, and paid time off.
