Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Privacy Specialist who will support the Chief Privacy Officer and team in developing and leading our privacy and CASL (Canadian Anti-Spam Legislation) program. The successful candidate will ensure compliance with all applicable Canadian federal and privacy legislation.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage our existing privacy, CASL, and risk management and compliance program
  • Respond to access to personal information requests in compliance with federal and provincial privacy laws
  • Coordinate bi-monthly privacy committee meetings and annual privacy awareness month
  • Track and manage incoming emails in the privacy office mailbox
  • Update annual privacy training and deployment tracking
  • Maintain data mapping requirements
  • Administer monthly reporting duties using Excel for Executive Team
  • Conduct daily audits of CASL Consents and e-newsletter Opt-Out Links
  • Coordinate business areas with implementation of key action items for compliance with federal and provincial privacy legislation
  • Support internal audit function with open actions items on risk register impacting privacy and CASL compliance
Requirements:
  • Post-secondary degree in a related field or equivalent experience
  • Strong organizational skills, including follow ups, attention to detail, and time management
  • Ability to simplify complex concepts appropriate to audience
  • Demonstrate ability to be discreet when handling sensitive personal information and topics/situations
  • Adaptable and comfortable with ambiguity and change
  • Excellent analytical capabilities
  • Excellent interpersonal skills; a team player and an individual contributor as required
  • Exceptional writing skills
  • Confident and effective communicator
  • Independent and self-starter
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
About You

We are looking for a highly motivated and detail-oriented individual with excellent analytical skills. You will have a strong understanding of Canadian privacy regulations and be able to apply that knowledge in a fast-paced environment.

What We Offer

We offer a competitive salary of $65,000 - $85,000 per year, depending on experience. You will also receive a generous employee discount, pension, and health & dental benefits, tuition assistance, and continuous learning and development.
