Job Title: Overnight Housekeeping Supervisor

Job Summary: We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Overnight Housekeeping Supervisor to join our team at ASM Global. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for ensuring the cleanliness and maintenance of our event venue, the Toyota Arena.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate and schedule work assignments, set priorities, and direct the work of housekeeping staff.
  • Schedule staff according to event orders and ensure adequate coverage of designated work areas.
  • Evaluate and verify employee performance through the review of completed work assignments and work techniques.
  • Make rounds to check for crew coverage, assign needed coverage, give special cleaning instructions, and ascertain compliance with directives.
  • Determine material, supplies, and equipment needs, complete requisitions for cleaning supplies, equipment repairs, and materials.
  • Respond to public inquiries in a courteous manner, provide information and service within the area of event orders, and resolve complaints in an efficient and timely manner.
  • Complete work order requests as received from the work order system.
  • Ensure that safety plans are fully in place, that all custodians and contract staff are trained on proper safety issues, and that all safety policies are followed.
  • Attend staff training and safety meetings.
  • Assist with the annual department budget preparation.
  • Maintain records, prepare reports, and compose correspondence relative to the work.
  • Clean floors, including sweeping, vacuuming, mopping, and waxing.
  • Clean bathrooms, including sinks, mirrors, urinals, toilets, and walls.
  • Dust areas that contain furniture, such as offices, and clean windows.

Requirements:

  • Minimum four years housekeeping experience, including two years of supervisory experience.
  • Hotel experience preferred.
  • Valid California driver's license.

Knowledge, Abilities, and Skills:

  • Knowledge of safe work practices and general cleaning procedures.
  • Ability to read, write, and speak English, communicate effectively both verbally and in writing, work in a team atmosphere, and maintain a professional demeanor at all times.
  • Skill to operate radio devices and equipment, such as scrubbers, sweepers, and vacuums.

Physical and Environmental Requirements:

  • Position requires walking and standing for most of the shift, may be subject to adverse conditions, may be required to work with hazardous substances, and irregular hours will be required.
