About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Housekeeping Manager to join our team at Silver Hotel Group. As a key member of our hospitality team, you will be responsible for ensuring the highest standards of cleanliness and sanitation in our hotel.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage the day-to-day activities of the Housekeeping team, ensuring seamless execution of cleaning and maintenance tasks.
  • Enforce hotel standards, policies, and procedures to the Housekeeping team, promoting a culture of excellence and attention to detail.
  • Lead by example, motivating and mentoring Housekeeping team members to deliver exceptional guest experiences.
  • Develop and implement effective training programs to enhance staff skills and knowledge.
  • Manage departmental budget and expenses, ensuring efficient use of resources.
  • Lead the Health and Safety efforts of the property, ensuring compliance with WHIMIS, WSIB, OHSA, and joint health and safety procedures.
  • Operate well under pressure, exercising good judgment and focusing attention on details to ensure high-quality results.
  • Maintain confidentiality of hotel guests and pertinent hotel information.
  • Establish, maintain, and train standards and procedures for cleaning and safe working conditions in the Housekeeping department.
  • Work to ensure high scores for cleanliness and other Housekeeping-related items on all inspections.
  • Develop and maintain a deep cleaning schedule and room cleanliness program.
  • Inspect or delegate inspections of all guestrooms cleaned by room attendants.
  • Develop an inspection program for all public areas and guestrooms to ensure proper maintenance and standards are achieved and sustained.
  • Ensure final inspection of all Housekeeping-related duties performed by the Housekeeping team.
  • Initiate new procedures to increase the efficiency of labor and safe chemical and equipment use.
  • May serve as 'manager on duty' as required.
Requirements
  • 2+ years of managerial experience in Housekeeping in a hotel or related industry.
  • Post-secondary degree/diploma in Tourism or Hospitality is an asset.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent organizational, technical, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Able to think clearly in pressure situations, exercise good judgment, and focus attention on details.
  • Is able to endure an abundance of physical movements in the performance of job duties.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Highly interpersonal; comfortable engaging with all guests, visitors, vendors, and team members.
  • Experience in financial management for a Housekeeping department is an asset.
  • Experience working in a unionized environment will be considered an asset.
  • A positive attitude is a must.
  • Must be available to work flexible shifts which may include but are not limited to days, evenings, overnights, weekends, and holidays as required by management.
