About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Financial Decision Support Consultant to join our team at Co-operators. As a strategic business partner, you will play a key role in driving business performance and making informed decisions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Evaluate the business financial condition by designing and applying specific modeling techniques to analyze key performance drivers and identify areas for improvement.
  • Develop innovative solutions and present them to senior business partners to drive business growth and improvement.
  • Provide mentorship and coaching to less senior Financial Analysts in research and analysis functions.
  • Contribute to business case template development and support management in unique and complex business case development.
  • Research best practices and analyze competitive, economic, and regulatory environments to identify complex issues and advantages.
  • Recommend highly developed short-term and long-term solutions for improved performance and articulate feasible alternatives and recommended action.
  • Provide leadership in the development and documentation of departmental processes and procedures, including efficiency improvements.
Requirements
  • University degree in a business-related discipline with some post-secondary education specializing in business or accounting.
  • CA/CGA/CMA designation program or equivalent advanced business education (MBA with a financial specialization).
  • 4 years of financial experience.
  • Comprehensive understanding of the insurance industry and specific business area operations.
