About the Role

This senior leadership position reports directly to the Associate Provost, Campus Support and Accessibility. As Conflict Management Strategist, you will be responsible for providing conflict management expertise to the campus community and leading the development, management, rationalization, and assessment of the Conflict Management Office (CMO).

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement strategies to manage conflicts and complaints effectively.
  • Lead the CMO team of specialized professionals in delivering high-quality services.
  • Maintain coordinated, integrated, and high-performing programs and services within the unit.
  • Provide strategic guidance to senior leaders on managing complex complaint/conflict-related matters.
  • Ensure compliance with statutory obligations, including the Ontario Human Rights Code and the Ontario Occupational Health and Safety Act.

To succeed in this role, you will require:

Qualifications
  • A Master's degree in a related field (e.g., Law).
  • Direct management experience, supervising direct reports.
  • Demonstrated leadership in strategic thinking, weighing risks, and applying sound judgment.
  • Experience assessing complex cases to identify institutional risks and offering guidance to mitigate risks.
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft platforms, including Outlook, Word, SharePoint, and Teams.
