Salary Information


The estimated annual salary for this position is approximately $41,280 (based on 40 hours/week at $20/hour). Benefits include health, vision, and dental coverage, as well as flexible spending account options.



Job Description


As a Bioprosthetic Heart Valve Sterilization Specialist, you will play a critical role in our Chemical Sterilization team. Your primary responsibilities will include:



  • Chemically sterilizing and aseptically transferring bioprosthetic heart valves according to prescribed procedures and techniques
  • Assembling/disassembling and monitoring process equipment used for the sterilization of bioprosthetic heart valves
  • Cleaning and sterilizing glassware, instruments, carboys, and other equipment
  • Operating, cleaning, and maintaining production equipment and devices by following written procedures
  • Maintaining traceability and proper documentation on all materials and components processed in the area
  • Documenting work accurately and completely in the Manufacturing Execution System (MES), BPCS Business System, forms, or logbooks/daily production logs as applicable
  • Performing cleaning of critical manufacturing room and gowning areas in accordance with established procedures
  • Handling chemicals in a safe manner following procedures
  • Performing other duties as required


Required Skills and Qualifications


To succeed in this role, you should possess the following skills and qualifications:



  • A technical diploma or degree in a relevant field
  • Knowledge of aseptic technique is desired
  • Mechanical aptitude with good manual dexterity and ability to do repetitive detailed work within guidelines
  • Proficient written and verbal communication skills to follow procedures written in English and to maintain precise records
  • Open-minded and accepts constructive criticism and feedback
  • Ability to work well with co-workers in a team environment with limited supervision
  • Relevant experience with equipment process control systems (HMI/PLC)
  • Experience with Microsoft Office Suite applications (Word, Excel, Outlook)
  • A valid driver's license and vehicle are required


Working Conditions (Physical Demands/Environmental Factors)


This position requires working in a controlled environment that may be confining. You will also be exposed to chemicals that are caustic, toxic, flammable, and/or have the potential to cause serious health effects. Additionally, you may need to work in an enclosed space (Half suit isolator) and perform tasks that involve standing, walking, lifting up to 35 lbs., carrying up to 35 lbs., pushing cars and vessels, and kneeling/bending.

Compensation


The training wage for this position is $19/hour, which will increase to $20/hour upon completion of training.
