About the Role:

We are seeking an experienced Electrical and Automation Specialist to join our team at our state-of-the-art facility in Courtice, Ontario. This is a unique opportunity to be part of a cutting-edge project that will process 140,000 tonnes of post-diversion residual waste annually, recovering metals and energy while meeting the most stringent emission standards.

Job Description:

The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining a safe and clean work area, following all safety policies, and performing inspection and maintenance work on high-voltage systems, distribution, controls, and equipment associated with the Durham York Waste to Energy Facility. Key responsibilities include:

  • Maintenance and repair of electrical and instrumentation systems and equipment
  • Troubleshooting and calibration of PLCs, VFDs, control valves, and other process control devices
  • Installation, programming, and testing of electrical equipment and controls
  • Collaboration with cross-functional teams to ensure efficient operation and maintenance of the facility
  • Development and implementation of preventative maintenance plans to minimize downtime and optimize performance

Requirements:

To be successful in this role, you will require:

  • A minimum of five to seven years' industrial experience in electrical and instrumentation systems and equipment
  • A high school education and formal technical or apprentice training
  • Strong knowledge of process automation and control, including experience with PLCs, VFDs, and control valves
  • Ontario Industrial Electrical certification is considered an asset
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment

Benefits:
