Job Summary

The Government of Nunavut is seeking a highly motivated and organized Junior Wellness Program Officer to join our team in Iqaluit. As a key member of the Community Wellness Programs section, you will contribute to the success of our community-based health programs and special projects.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the planning, development, and delivery of projects undertaken by the section.
  • Provide logistical and program support to the Manager and other members within the Community Wellness Programs.
  • Act independently in completing tasks and collaborate with territorial, regional, and community program personnel to ensure consistency and compliance with approved approaches.
  • Maintain security and confidentiality of information and financial tracking systems.
  • Deal directly with regional and community staff members to facilitate the contacting process and prepare community budget templates.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma and two (2) years of program administrative experience preferably in an office setting.
  • Fluency in one of the official languages of Nunavut (Inuktut, English, or French).
  • Knowledge of Inuit communities, culture, land, Inuit Qaujimajatuqangit, Inuktut, and experience working in a northern cross-cultural environment are considered assets.
