Community Communications Liaison

The City of Iqaluit is seeking a highly skilled and experienced individual to serve as the Community Communications Liaison. This role is a vital link between residents and the organization, requiring strong communication skills and the ability to connect residents with city services and support.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Communicate confidently in Inuktitut and English
  • Work with city departments to ensure residents have a positive experience with the City
  • Solve customer service issues and participate in evaluating and implementing communications processes
  • Assist in strengthening Iqaluit as an Inuit and cultural capital
  • Help create material for internal and external audiences, including writing for the website and social media platforms
Requirements:
  • College Diploma or University Degree in Communications, Cultural Studies, Business Administration, or related field
  • Minimum 2 years' work experience in a municipal, Territorial, or Federal Government or not-for-profit environment involving communications, programs, or service delivery
  • Excellent problem-solving and conflict resolution skills
  • Professional writing skills and computer literacy
  • Comprehensive knowledge and understanding of Iqaluit's history
