As a Casual Childcare Support Specialist, you will play a vital role in providing staffing support within our Early Learning & Childcare Programs. Your primary responsibility will be to ensure that developed programs are implemented and executed effectively, while also working hands-on with the children in our care.
Key Responsibilities:
- Implement fun, engaging, and inclusive daily experiences that support and promote each child's development in multiple areas (physical, emotional, social, communicative, cognitive, and creative skills).
- Encourage children to participate in various activities, including art, dramatic play, and music, to foster their creativity and self-expression.
- Develop sincere, understanding, and loving relationships with each child through one-on-one interactions and active supervision.
- Practice an inclusive approach by adapting activities and program plans to accommodate all ability levels and collaborate with co-workers when extra support is needed.
- Monitor and report any safety hazards in the work environment and contribute to creating a psychologically safe workplace culture.
Required Qualifications:
- Minimum Grade 12 education.
- Working towards or completion of a relevant diploma or degree in Early Childhood Education, Disability Support Worker, or a related field is considered an asset.
- Current First Aid/CPR Training.
- Previous experience providing childcare with diverse needs and abilities.
- Experience with Emergent Curriculum and the Project Approach is beneficial.
Salary and Benefits:
We offer a competitive salary of $15.56/hr, starting as a casual position. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a dynamic team.
