About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Assistant Manager to join our team at Down East Hospitality Incorporated. As an Assistant Manager, you will play a key role in the day-to-day operations of our business, ensuring that all aspects of our operations run smoothly and efficiently.

Key Responsibilities
  • Evaluate Daily Operations: Monitor and assess the performance of our daily operations, identifying areas for improvement and implementing changes as needed.
  • Monitor Revenues and Labour Costs: Analyze our revenue streams and labour costs to ensure that we are operating within budget and making informed decisions about resource allocation.
  • Supervise Staff: Lead and manage a team of 11-15 staff members, providing guidance, support, and feedback to ensure that they are meeting their performance goals.
  • Plan and Organize Daily Operations: Develop and implement plans to ensure that our daily operations are running efficiently and effectively.
  • Set Staff Work Schedules: Create and manage staff schedules to ensure that we have adequate coverage during peak periods.
  • Train Staff: Provide training and development opportunities to staff members to enhance their skills and knowledge.
  • Organize and Maintain Inventory: Oversee the management of our inventory, ensuring that we have adequate stock levels and that inventory is properly stored and maintained.
  • Ensure Health and Safety Regulations are Followed: Ensure that all staff members are aware of and comply with health and safety regulations, and that our workplace is a safe and healthy environment.
  • Leading/Instructing Individuals: Provide guidance and instruction to staff members to help them develop their skills and knowledge.
  • Address Customer Complaints or Concerns: Respond to customer complaints and concerns in a professional and timely manner.
  • Provide Customer Service: Ensure that all customers receive excellent service and that their needs are met.
Requirements
  • Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate.
  • Experience: 2 years to less than 3 years of experience in a similar role.
  • Certifications: First Aid Certificate and Food Safety Certificate.
  • Computer and Technology Knowledge: Proficient in the use of electronic cash registers.
  • Transportation/Travel Information: Valid driver's licence and own transportation.
  • Work Conditions and Physical Capabilities: Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, work under pressure, and stand for extended periods.
