About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Assistant Manager to join our team at Down East Hospitality Incorporated. As an Assistant Manager, you will play a key role in the day-to-day operations of our business, ensuring that all aspects of the operation run smoothly and efficiently.

Key Responsibilities
  • Evaluate Daily Operations: Monitor and assess the performance of our daily operations, identifying areas for improvement and implementing changes as needed.
  • Monitor Revenues and Labour Costs: Analyze financial data to determine labour costs and make recommendations for cost savings.
  • Supervise Staff: Lead and manage a team of 11-15 staff members, providing guidance and support to ensure they are meeting their performance goals.
  • Plan and Organize Daily Operations: Develop and implement plans to ensure the smooth operation of our business, including scheduling and inventory management.
  • Set Staff Work Schedules: Create and manage staff schedules to ensure adequate coverage and minimize overtime.
  • Train Staff: Provide ongoing training and development opportunities to ensure staff have the skills and knowledge needed to perform their jobs effectively.
  • Organize and Maintain Inventory: Manage inventory levels and ensure that all necessary supplies are on hand.
  • Ensure Health and Safety Regulations are Followed: Ensure that all health and safety regulations are followed, and that staff are aware of their responsibilities in this area.
  • Leading/Instructing Individuals: Provide guidance and support to staff to help them develop their skills and knowledge.
  • Address Customer Complaints or Concerns: Respond to customer complaints and concerns in a professional and timely manner.
  • Provide Customer Service: Ensure that all customers receive excellent service, and that their needs are met.
Requirements
  • Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate.
  • Experience: 2 years to less than 3 years of experience in a similar role.
  • Computer and Technology Knowledge: Proficient in the use of electronic cash registers and other technology systems.
  • Transportation/Travel Information: Valid driver's license and own transportation.
  • Work Conditions and Physical Capabilities: Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, work under pressure, and stand for extended periods.
