Position Overview
The Territory Sales Manager at Steris is responsible for the overall financial performance and customer satisfaction in the assigned territory.
This role entails meeting yearly sales goals, driving growth in market share from competitors, distributors, and ensuring positive customer experiences that exceed expectations.
The successful candidate will act as a primary contact and sales consultant accountable for the customer experience within MDRD, OR, and GI departments.
To achieve this, they must balance their time selling established products and new product introductions while utilizing consultative selling skills and competencies to position Steris' consumable products and services as solutions for customers.
This remote-based customer-facing position requires candidates to be based out of Ontario.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement annual business plans for territories/accounts, including opportunity development, competitive strategies, and targets to drive sales growth.
- Analyze and improve franchise performance to maintain and grow market share of designated products/services.
- Negotiate customer agreements while leveraging Steris' complete product/service offerings and working closely with sales business unit counterparts.
- Maintain thorough knowledge of GPO contracts and their application to individual accounts.
- Call on various hospital stakeholders, including C-suite executives, department leaders, risk management, biomedical, infection prevention practitioners, and nursing staff.
- Develop and maintain consultative sales relationships with key-buying influences and continuously strengthen these relationships through communication and ongoing self-education on industry changes.
- Maintain complete knowledge of each account's history, contacts, and current/long-term purchase plans for designated products.
Requirements and Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Business or Marketing preferred.
- 3-5 years of sales experience with a minimum of 2 years in B2B or medical device sales, consistently meeting/exceeding sales goals.
- Successful history of selling new products, increasing product utilization, and protecting existing market share positions.
- Experience in medical and consumable equipment sales, with an emphasis on GI, SPD, Environmental Services.
- Understanding of the hospital buying process, including National Accounts, GPO, and Distributors.
