Trade Credit Team Manager, Underwriting Business Development

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Trade Credit Team Leader to join our Underwriting team at AIG. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for leading a cross-regional team of Underwriting Analysts and working closely with underwriters and other stakeholders to develop and deliver tailored solutions.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and maintain key relationships with field and home office underwriting leaders to execute end-to-end underwriting processes.
- Manage a team of Underwriting Analysts, providing guidance and support to ensure the successful delivery of underwriting services.
- Work closely with underwriters and other stakeholders to develop and deliver tailored solutions to meet the needs of our customers.
- Assume an active role in implementing the Standard Commercial Underwriting Platform transformation, ensuring a smooth transition and minimal disruption to our operations.
- Communicate and collaborate across the organization to provide solutions and recommendations to achieve organizational success.
- Track and translate quality, timeliness, productivity, and service delivery requirements into individual, team, and unit metrics, recommending performance measurements to collect for performance data.
- Review and manage production and quality control reports, taking appropriate action to improve results and ensure compliance with workflows and procedures.
- Ensure compliance with internal audit guidelines and assist with developing responses and action plans in response to audit findings.
- Support IT development efforts as a subject matter expert, providing input and guidance on the development of new systems and processes.
- Maintain open and effective communication with underwriters to foster partnership and teamwork, attending underwriting reviews and operational meetings to report on operational process changes and regulatory updates.
- Proactively maintain effectiveness in a changing work environment, adjusting to new structure, process requirements, or culture as needed.
- Keep underwriting management informed of status and progress of support unit, assisting with quality control of complex policies and actively managing the team in all aspects, including hiring, performance management, development, and schedule coordination.
- Collaborate with underwriting on individual account service agreements to ensure resources, system capabilities, and time requirements are achievable, managing the day-to-day operations of the support unit and serving as the first escalation point for operations or underwriting staff regarding service issues.
- Identify servicing issues with SS and work with the Operations Manager to document the issue, present it to SS, and follow up through resolution, attending broker or client meetings as requested by underwriting.
- Bachelor's degree or 5+ years of related Commercial Insurance experience.
- 1+ years of direct team management experience.
- Strong knowledge of program and reinsurance structures.
- Coursework completed towards CPCU, ARM, or other relevant commercial insurance industry designations is preferred but not required.
- Advanced knowledge of commercial P&C insurance policy forms and regulatory requirements.
- Appropriate combination of commercial P&C insurance rating, coding, and underwriting assistant skills.
- Proficient with insurance operating systems, which are used to rate, code, track, and/or issue insurance policies.
- Proactive, independent work ethic with strong time management, problem-solving, communication, and analytical skills.
- Must demonstrate the ability to multitask and work under limited supervision, with excellent marketing, influencing, negotiating, and communication skills in dealing with C-suite leaders.
