Key Responsibilities:
- Develop strategic relationships with underwriting leaders to execute end-to-end underwriting processes.
- Lead a cross-regional team of Underwriting Analysts, fostering collaboration and driving results.
- Work closely with underwriters and CoE partners to develop tailored solutions, driving business growth and efficiency.
- Assume a key role in implementing the Standard Commercial Underwriting Platform transformation, ensuring seamless execution.
- Communicate and collaborate across the organization to provide solutions and recommendations, driving organizational success.
- Track and translate quality, timeliness, productivity, and service delivery requirements into individual, team, and unit metrics, recommending performance measurements.
- Review and manage production and quality control reports, taking action to improve results.
- Ensure compliance with workflows and procedures, identifying process efficiencies and implementing changes.
- Serve as the point of contact for Internal Audit, ensuring compliance with internal audit guidelines and assisting with developing responses and action plans.
- Support IT development efforts as a subject matter expert, driving innovation and improvement.
- Maintain open and effective communication with underwriters, fostering partnership and teamwork.
- Attend underwriting reviews and operational meetings, reporting on operational process changes and regulatory updates.
- Proactively adapt to changes in work responsibilities or environment, adjusting to new structures and processes.
- Keep underwriting management informed of status and progress, ensuring seamless communication.
- Assist with quality control of complex policies, driving accuracy and excellence.
- Actively manage the team, including hiring, performance management, development, and schedule coordination.
- Collaborate with underwriting on individual account service agreements, ensuring resources and capabilities align.
- Manage day-to-day operations of the support unit, driving efficiency and effectiveness.
- Escalate service issues to operations or underwriting staff, resolving concerns and improving customer satisfaction.
- Attend broker or client meetings as requested by underwriting, driving business growth and relationships.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree or 5+ years of related Commercial Insurance experience.
- 1+ years of direct team management experience.
- Strong knowledge of program and reinsurance structures.
- Coursework completed towards CPCU, ARM, or other relevant commercial insurance industry designations is preferred but not required.
- Advanced knowledge of commercial P&C insurance policy forms and regulatory requirements.
- Appropriate combination of commercial P&C insurance rating, coding, and underwriting assistant skills.
- Proactive, independent work ethic with strong time management, problem-solving, communication, and analytical skills.
- Must demonstrate the ability to multitask and work under limited supervision.
- Must have demonstrated excellent marketing, influencing, negotiating, and communication skills in dealing with C-suite leaders.
