About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Credit Team Lead to join our team at Accoravillage. As a key member of our Credit department, you will be responsible for leading a team of Underwriters in ensuring the timely and accurate underwriting of mortgage applications.

Key Responsibilities
  • Leadership and Team Management
    • Lead a team of Underwriters in the underwriting of mortgage applications
    • Develop and implement strategies to improve team performance and efficiency
    • Provide coaching and mentoring to Underwriters to enhance their skills and knowledge
  • Credit Risk Management
    • Review and approve mortgage applications to ensure compliance with Bank policies and guidelines
    • Identify and mitigate credit risk associated with mortgage applications
    • Develop and maintain comprehensive procedures for credit risk management
  • Policy and Procedure Implementation
    • Implement and maintain policies and procedures related to credit underwriting and risk management
    • Ensure adherence to regulatory requirements and Bank policies
    • Develop and maintain relationships with internal stakeholders to ensure effective communication and collaboration
  • Reporting and Analysis
    • Provide regular and ad-hoc reporting to Management on credit underwriting and risk management performance
    • Develop and maintain comprehensive reports and analysis on credit underwriting and risk management
    • Identify trends and areas for improvement in credit underwriting and risk management
Requirements
  • Education and Experience
    • Post-secondary education and/or equivalent experience
    • Experience in credit underwriting and risk management in a financial institution
  • Skills and Attributes
    • Strong leadership and team management skills
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
    • Ability to analyze complex data and make informed decisions
    • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
