We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Credit Underwriter Team Lead to join our team at Accoravillage. As a key member of our Credit department, you will be responsible for leading a team of Underwriters in the review and approval of mortgage applications, ensuring that all submissions meet the Bank's credit policies and guidelines.
Key Responsibilities- Lead a team of Underwriters in the review and approval of mortgage applications, ensuring timely and accurate decision-making.
- Develop and implement effective training programs to enhance the skills and knowledge of Underwriters.
- Collaborate with the Senior Manager, Credit to develop and implement credit policies and procedures.
- Provide input to the Senior Manager on performance assessments and development plans for Underwriters.
- Ensure compliance with Bank's policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
- Lead cross-functional projects and initiatives to improve operational efficiency and effectiveness.
- Post-secondary education and/or equivalent experience in credit underwriting or a related field.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in credit underwriting, with a focus on mortgage lending.
- Proven leadership and management skills, with experience in leading high-performing teams.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex data and make informed decisions.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with stakeholders.
