Job Summary

The People Operations Representative role provides critical support to the organization in various aspects of human resources, including hourly recruiting, onboarding, unemployment claims, performance management training, and HR metrics reporting. This position is responsible for ensuring compliance with company policies and regulations.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Provides consulting services to management on employee relations issues and HR policies.
  2. Recruits or assists management in the recruitment process for exempt and non-exempt candidates, conducts new hire orientations, and maintains employment records.
  3. Enhances, conducts, and/or assists with the administration of internal training programs to align with long-term HR goals and objectives.
  4. Provides guidance to management when writing job descriptions, manages performance appraisals and salary reviews, and ensures fair and equitable appraisals and compensation levels.
  5. Investigates internal and external employment equity complaints and employee relations issues within and outside assigned regions.
  6. Develops action plans to comply with the annual affirmative action plan and related reports.
  7. Facilitates training and leadership programs, evaluates their effectiveness, and ensures compliance with legally required training.
  8. Educates management on proper timesheet and payroll procedures and resolves discrepancies as needed.
  9. Assists management in administering personnel paperwork, including promotions, new hires, terminations, salary changes, and benefits.
  10. Prepares statistical reports of trends and data necessary for management information.
  11. Reports the status of personnel programs, policies, and procedures.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent in human resources, business, or a related discipline.
  • Professional accreditation preferred.
  • Three years of professional experience as a generalist, including experience with recruitment, employee relations, EEO/AAP administration, management development, and leave of absence administration.
  • PHR, SHRM-CP, or equivalent certification preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of HR-related best practices, government regulations, and industry standards.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office applications and HR Information Systems strongly preferred.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proven customer service skills.
Working Conditions

The work is performed in a general warehouse environment with adequate lighting. Temperatures can be very hot during the summer months and very cold during the winter months. The workspace can be very dusty and occasionally noisy due to traffic of motorized vehicles operating.
