Job Summary

The Infection Control Associate plays a vital role in preventing the transmission of infectious diseases at Michael Garron Hospital. As a key member of the Infection Prevention and Control (IPAC) team, this individual will work closely with physicians, clinical staff, and other stakeholders to develop and implement evidence-based solutions to prevent the spread of infectious diseases.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with healthcare staff to develop and implement IPAC solutions
  • Use continuous quality improvement methodology to identify and address areas for improvement
  • Develop and maintain effective relationships with healthcare staff, patients, and families
  • Provide education and training on IPAC best practices
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of IPAC policies and procedures

Requirements

  • Baccalaureate degree in Health Sciences or related field, with a certificate of competence issued by the discipline's licensing body of Ontario
  • Completion of the CHICA-Canada Infection Control course or other courses related to Infection Prevention and Control
  • Excellent leadership, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Sound judgment and initiative for priority setting
