Job Description:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Program Coordinator to lead our Career Development and Co-op Services team. This individual will be responsible for providing strategic direction, supervising staff, expanding our host company database, promoting our programs, and offering guidance to students.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Supervision and Management:
  • Oversee the overall workflow, deliverables, and operation of the Career Development and Co-op Services department.
  • Direct and guide staff in their roles, providing support, mentorship, and training as needed.
  • Ensure efficient administration of documents, coordination of events/activities, and provision of career-related services to students.
  • Strategic Direction and Leadership:
  • Provide strategic direction and leadership for Career Development and Co-op Services, including the development and implementation of policies, procedures, and initiatives to support our goals.
  • Establish structure, process management/integrity, benchmarking, and planning frameworks to enhance the effectiveness and efficiency of our operations.
  • Expansion of Host Company Database:
  • Lead efforts to expand our database of host companies to create more opportunities for students.
  • Utilize various strategies such as networking at industry events, collaborating with industry associations, engaging alumni, utilizing online platforms, implementing referral programs, and targeting outreach campaigns.
  • Conduct market research to identify potential employers and job opportunities, in collaboration with instructors.
  • Promotion and Outreach:
  • Promote programs and explain the co-op process to prospective and new employers via telephone, in-person meetings, email, and other communication channels.
  • Organize and plan special events such as weekly workshops and semi-annual hiring fairs (Spring and Fall) to showcase our program and engage with stakeholders.
  • Conduct site visits to maintain relationships with host companies, gather feedback, and seek referrals for future employment opportunities.
  • Student Support and Consultation:
  • Provide consulting and support to students towards the development of realistic co-op work plans.
  • Support instructional staff in developing market-attractive resumes and offering guidance for interview performance, both individually and in group settings.
Requirements:
  • 2-3 years of work experience in a supervisory role preferably in the education sector or other related sectors.
  • Knowledge of education programs or related working experience in the education sector is preferable.
  • Background in sales/marketing and/or HR/career consulting would be an asset.
  • Possess excellent communication and conflict resolution skills.

Estimated Salary: CAD $60,000 - CAD $80,000 per year.
