About the Position


BGC South Coast BC is seeking skilled Youth Program Coordinators to lead fun and engaging programs for children/youth at our various locations in Vancouver, Surrey, Burnaby, Richmond, Delta, Tsawwassen, and Langley.



Job Summary

  • Plan, develop, and implement recreational, social, and/or educational activities for children/youth who visit Club programs.
  • Create a fun and enjoyable atmosphere to encourage client participation in programs.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of new trends in activities programming.
  • Model appropriate behavior and dress appropriately for the specific program needs.
  • Recognize volunteer rights and support and cooperate with volunteers in the programs.
  • Adhere to program policies, procedures, child protection procedures, and other protocols from training and team meetings.
  • Attend scheduled staff meetings and training sessions.
  • Evaluate and improve programs as needed.


Requirements

The ideal candidate will have:



  • A clear Criminal Record Check (Vulnerable Sector).
  • Post-secondary training/courses in recreation or a related field.
  • Experience working with groups of children in a social recreational setting and in planning activities.
  • The ability to work flexible hours including weekends and evenings.
  • Valid Child Care First Aid (8 hr. course) and CPR certification (must be obtained within 3 months).
  • Excellent interpersonal behavior and communication skills.
  • Proven organization and time management skills.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills.
  • The ability to work independently and as part of a larger team.
  • Minimum nineteen years of age.


What We Offer

We offer a competitive salary range of $40,000-$55,000 per year, depending on experience.
