Lead Movement Strategist

We are seeking an experienced Lead Movement Strategist to join our team at ROME GROUP. This is a full-time exempt position with a competitive salary of $85,000.
Job DescriptionThe Director, Community Outreach will play a key role in leading our community movement building efforts. As a seasoned organizer and leader, you will bring expertise in community mobilization, leadership development, and coalition work to support the Executive Director in developing a multi-year power-building strategy.
Your primary responsibility will be stewarding Freedom Community Center's efforts in community movement building through leadership development, organizing, and coalition work. You will manage the Movement Building efforts of FCC, including canvassing, Powerbuilding monthly meetings, and Powerbuilding leadership development cohorts.
You will supervise a team of 2-3 community organizers, manage the training of members to be healers/restorative justice practitioners for FCC's Peacemaking work, organize participants in FCC Peacemaking work to join the PowerBuilders Membership, and lead continuing and emerging community-based, direct-action abolitionist campaigns.
This role requires strong relationship-building capacity, excellent written and verbal communication skills, and the ability to build and navigate a fast-paced, outcomes-driven environment. A well-organized individual with high ethical standards and a self-directed individual who is an independent thinker and a team player is ideal for this position.
