Ktunaxa Kinbasket Child and Family Services is a non-profit Indigenous Child and Family Service Agency that provides holistic services to Ktunaxa citizens, First Nations, Métis, and Inuit living on and off-reserve in Ktunaxa Traditional Territory.

We are seeking a Family Support Specialist to join our team. This role is an exciting opportunity for a motivated individual to make a difference in the lives of families and youth. As a Family Support Specialist, you will provide hands-on support to families and youth, promoting community connections, health, and wellness.

The successful candidate will have a strong understanding of child development, experience working with families at risk, and excellent communication and interpersonal skills. You will be able to work independently and within a team, while maintaining confidentiality and adhering to case management procedures.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide 1 to 1 youth support and facilitate youth group activities
  • Conduct needs assessments of individuals or families
  • Assist with the development of individual or family support plans
  • Implement strategies to address goals established in the Family Support Plan
  • Liaise and co-ordinate with community child and family services, health professionals, and outside agencies

Requirements:

  • Two-year diploma in Human Service Work, Early Childhood Education, or Certificate in Social Work
  • Two to three years of related experience
  • Working knowledge of Child Development
  • Experience working with families at risk
  • Ability to work independently and within a team
