Job OverviewAxis Family Resources Ltd. is seeking a skilled Part-Time Permanency Outreach Counsellor as part of the Family Strengthening Program. This program focuses on providing therapy-based services to adoptive families and caregivers through culturally sensitive and trauma-informed approaches.
Key Responsibilities:- Develop, implement, and evaluate family-based intervention plans in collaboration with the integrated case management team.
- Provide counselling services that focus on parent-child relationships, strengthening parent capacity, behavior support, and group work.
- Offer support during crisis situations, including weekends and evenings based on family needs.
To succeed in this role, you will require:
- A bachelor's degree in Social Work, Child & Youth Care, or a related Human Services field.
- A minimum of 1 year of related experience and knowledge of brief therapy/solution-focused therapy, counselling, or crisis intervention approaches.
- Education, training, or experience demonstrating an ability to utilize diverse strategies for addressing issues such as child abuse/neglect, family violence, family-of-origin issues, anger management, communication problems, parenting challenges, financial management difficulties, mental or developmental challenges, intimacy, self-care, and more.
The estimated annual salary for this position is $60,000 - $80,000, commensurate with experience. We offer a competitive compensation package, including benefits and opportunities for professional growth.
