Project Coordination in a Multidisciplinary Environment

This role is part of Provincial Programs supporting the Systemic Therapy Portfolio. The successful candidate will work remotely, but must be within the vicinity of a regional BC Cancer Centre to work on site as required.

The Project Coordinator works in collaboration with Program Managers to identify and prioritize projects. Key responsibilities include coordinating information dissemination, education for stakeholders, research, health system support, and academic development. The coordinator maintains primary project coordination responsibility and supports team efforts with internal and external partners on ongoing programs and initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Monitor and coordinate project execution, ensuring adherence to project protocols and completion within required timelines.
  • Identify, collect, and analyze relevant information relating to current projects, providing input and recommendations to project teams.
  • Support project management and facilitation, identifying best strategies and activities for team members and stakeholders.
  • Coordinate and arrange project team meetings, preparing documents including presentations, spreadsheets, correspondence, meeting minutes, and reports.
  • Presents project updates to internal and external stakeholder groups, developing communication plans and disseminating information through various mediums.
  • Monitors period, quarterly, mid-year, and year-end budget expenditures, gathering and summarizing financial information for submission.
  • Collaborates with Project Managers and Directors to implement approved recommendations from previous projects, research, best practices, and policy reviews.

Requirements and Qualifications

The ideal candidate holds a Bachelor's degree in Health or Social Sciences and has five years of experience in a related role, such as a research assistant, project coordinator, or policy analyst. Key skills include knowledge of quality improvement and clinical practices, project coordination/management, research, and evaluation.

Strong interpersonal skills, conflict management, consensus building, excellent oral and written communications, and commitment to upholding reconciliation principles are essential. Familiarity with Indigenous Cultural Safety, anti-racism, and accompanying reports is also required.
