Job Overview

We are seeking a skilled Registered Psychiatric Nurse or Registered Nurse to join our team as a Rural Healthcare Specialist. This is an exciting opportunity for a nurse who wants to work in various rural settings and communities in British Columbia.

The ideal candidate will have at least two years of recent experience working in an acute care environment, preferably with advanced preparation in a clinical specialty. They should also possess excellent communication and assessment skills, be able to work independently, and demonstrate a commitment to delivering high-quality patient-centered care.

About the Role

As a Rural Healthcare Specialist, you will be responsible for assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating client care in multiple clinical settings. You will work collaboratively with interdisciplinary teams to provide comprehensive care that meets the unique needs of each community. Your expertise and flexibility will enable you to adapt to diverse healthcare environments and situations.

Responsibilities
  • Assess clients' physical and mental health needs and develop personalized care plans
  • Collaborate with healthcare professionals to deliver coordinated and effective care
  • Work in multiple clinical settings, including hospitals, clinics, and long-term care facilities
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with local healthcare providers and stakeholders
  • Contribute to quality improvement initiatives and professional development activities
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Nursing (BScN) or equivalent
  • Current registration with BC College of Nurses and Midwives as a practicing RPN or RN
  • Minimum two years of recent experience working in an acute care environment
  • Advanced preparation in a clinical specialty, such as Emergency, Perinatal, Perioperative, or Rural and Remote Care
  • Excellent communication and assessment skills
  • Ability to work independently and collaborate with interdisciplinary teams
