Job Description

The ideal candidate will have experience in an Accident Benefits and Bodily Injury role, supplemented with post-secondary education and/or a CIP/FCIP designation or working towards same. They will be familiar with Commercial General Liability and Personal Liability policies, as well as possess excellent interpersonal, organizational and time management skills.

We offer a competitive salary range of $65,000 - $85,000 per year, depending on experience, plus benefits. Our company offers a dynamic work environment, opportunities for growth and development, and a collaborative team culture.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage a portfolio of casualty claims, confirming coverages, determining liability, and verifying entitlement to coverage.
  • Collect and review medical documents and treatment plans, quantifying claims and negotiating directly with claimants to settle claims.
  • Attend mediations and examinations/questioning as required, documenting all file activity in an orderly and detailed fashion.
  • Maintain effective communication channels within the claims department and other outside professionals, as well as assist operations during high volume periods by examining overflow files.
Required Qualifications:
  • Experience in an Accident Benefits and Bodily Injury role, supplemented with post-secondary education and/or a CIP/FCIP designation or working towards same.
  • Familiarity with Commercial General Liability and Personal Liability policies.
  • Exceptional ability to negotiate and critically analyze data, as well as strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Possession of a keen understanding of medical terminology and medical abbreviations, knowledge of common types of trauma, their treatment, and recovery periods.
