The Role

This Senior HSE Specialist plays a key role on the Canadian HSE Team in aligning and implementing Thermon's Canadian and Global HSE programs, policies, procedures, and processes. They will provide HSE expertise and support to our Construction Services group in Edmonton and Manufacturing and Temporary Power Solutions groups in Calgary, Edmonton, and Fort McMurray.

Responsibilities

  • Build and maintain credible relationships with internal stakeholders through trust, consistency, collaboration, effective communication, and results.
  • Work with the Canadian HSE Team to develop, implement, and administer Thermon Canada HSE practices and processes that align with Company goals to drive business growth.
  • Advocate and drive for the resolution of HSE issues and concerns, including internal investigations, corrective actions, and coaching.
  • Champion and model our core values, embedding them into the organization's culture and psyche.
  • Provide full-service HSE support for our operations in Edmonton, Calgary, and Fort McMurray.
  • Maintain and continuously improve our COR-certified HSE program.
  • Assist with the development and review of Job Hazard/Risk Assessments and Safe Work Practices.
  • Maintain all Company safety certifications, training, and applicable documentation and records.
  • Evaluate and manage sub-contractors.
  • Manage WCB claims and support managers and supervisors in the safe and early return to work of injured employees.
  • Manage online compliance sites such as ISNetworld, Avetta, Complyworks, etc.
  • Visit customer/project sites to ensure compliance with legislated and Thermon requirements.

Requirements

  • Undergraduate degree in Occupational Health and Safety or a related discipline and experience.
  • CRSP designation or working towards it.
  • 5 years of direct working experience in the administration of Health and Safety programs.

What You Bring

  • Up-to-date knowledge of Alberta Health and Safety legislation.
  • Knowledgeable in other provincial Health and Safety regulations (an asset).
  • Experience with Certificate of Recognition (COR) program (Certified auditor an asset).
  • Experience in managing HSE programs across multiple sites.
  • Verbal and written fluency in English.
  • Effective communication and interaction skills with internal staff, office visitors, clients, and vendors.
  • Strong computer proficiency, with emphasis on MS Word, PowerPoint, and Excel (mandatory).
  • Ability to travel to customer/project sites and Thermon facilities in Alberta.

Salary Estimate: $80,000 - $110,000 per year
