Senior Manager, Privacy and Compliance

The Royal Bank of Canada is seeking a highly skilled Senior Manager, Privacy and Compliance to join our Global Privacy Office. As a key member of our team, you will play a critical role in providing strategic advice and guidance on mitigating privacy risks.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and implement comprehensive privacy compliance programs to ensure alignment with regulatory requirements and RBC's privacy obligations.
- Collaborate with key business partners to provide support and guidance on privacy regulatory and legal requirements.
- Perform privacy risk assessments on new initiatives and third-party vendors, identifying potential risks to the business.
- Develop and maintain reports and tracking of recommendations/issues raised during privacy risk assessments.
- Execute routine reviews of privacy controls, processes, and procedures, including risk assessments and incident reporting.
- Support inquiries from privacy authorities and investigations related to privacy breaches.
- Manage and support investigations and incidents related to privacy breaches.
- Support privacy diligence requirements for acquisitions and third-party vendors.
- Conduct research and environmental scans on emerging trends and best practices in privacy and compliance.
- Develop strong relationships with stakeholders to foster a culture of privacy and compliance.
- Provide guidance and training on changes in applicable laws and regulations.
- University undergraduate degree in a related field.
- Strong knowledge of privacy, compliance, and regulatory risk management practices.
- Experience working in the financial services industry.
- Experience assessing design and operational effectiveness of internal controls.
- At least 5 years of experience interpreting and applying federal privacy law.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Canadian certification with the International Association of Privacy Professionals (IAPP) or an equivalent credential.
- Bilingual - French language.
