Senior Manager, Privacy

Join our Global Privacy Office as a Senior Manager, Privacy, and play a key role in shaping our organization's approach to privacy. As a member of our Canadian and Caribbean Privacy team, you will work closely with key stakeholders to provide strategic advice and guidance on mitigating privacy risks.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement core Privacy compliance programs to ensure they meet regulatory, legal, and organizational requirements.
  • Provide subject matter expertise on privacy and collaborate with business partners to support stakeholders in understanding and interpreting privacy regulatory and legal requirements.
  • Perform Privacy Risk Assessments on new initiatives and third parties, identifying potential privacy risks to the business.
  • Track and report on recommendations and issues raised during privacy risk assessments.
  • Execute routine reviews of 2LOD privacy controls, processes, and procedures, including Processing Activity Risk Assessments (PARA) and Privacy Incident Reporting Tool (PIRT) 2LOD oversight activities and methodologies.
  • Support inquiries from privacy authorities and investigations related to privacy issues.
  • Manage and support investigations and incidents related to privacy breaches.
  • Support privacy diligence requirements for acquisitions and third-party vendors and suppliers as needed.
  • Conduct research and environmental scans on privacy controls and emerging trends.
  • Develop strong relationships with stakeholders to foster a culture of privacy.
  • Report on changes in applicable laws and regulations and provide guidance and training as needed.

Requirements:

  • University undergraduate degree in a related field.
  • Strong knowledge of privacy, compliance, and regulatory risk management practices.
  • Experience working in the financial services industry.
  • Experience assessing design and operational effectiveness of internal controls.
  • At least 5 years of work experience interpreting and applying federal privacy law.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills and the ability to respond to multiple demands and prioritize work activities.

Nice-to-Have:

  • Canadian certification with the International Association of Privacy Professionals (IAPP) or an equivalent credential.
  • Bilingual - French language.
