About the Job

We are seeking a skilled Confidential Document Specialist to join our Health Information Management Administration team. This role involves retrieving, verifying, and distributing confidential patient information in accordance with established policies and procedures.

Responsibilities

  • Retrieve and verify patient records, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality
  • Distribute patient information to authorized personnel and external parties, as required
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of requests and responses
  • Process legal requests for personal information, including certification of documents
  • Represent the organization in responding to internal and external inquiries related to release of patient information
  • Perform record processing functions, including identifying, verifying, and correcting patient information
  • Retrieves health records according to established policies and procedures, and maintains and updates records location utilizing computerized record location systems

Requirements

  • Grade 12 diploma or equivalent, with courses related to release of information
  • Two (2) years of recent experience in a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing
  • Knowledge of medical terminology
  • Ability to operate related equipment, including computers and copiers
  • Physical ability to carry out the duties of the position

Working Conditions

This role is 100% onsite and requires working at multiple locations across Fraser Health, Providence Health Care, Provincial Health Services Authority, and Vancouver Coastal Health.

What We Offer

  • A competitive salary range of $65,000 - $85,000 per year, depending on experience
